Friday the 13th

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Today is FRIDAY!!!! Yay! So that makes today Fear Friday. I love all things horror and spooky so on Fridays I will be posting my favorite horror movies, scary tv shows, or ghost stories. Anything related to fear.

This Friday my pick is Friday the 13th from 1980. The film focuses on camp counselors at Camp Crystal Lake better know to the locals as Camp Blood. The story goes that in 1957 a young boy named Jason drowns in the lake while two of the counselors were busy having sex and not paying attention to the boy. A year later in 1958 the killings start to happen. The camp is shut down for a few years, every time someone tries to open the place there is always something wrong going on like fires. Then one guy named Steve Christy has reopens the place and fixed it all up. He employs new counselors and from there one by one start to be killed.

****If you have not seen the movie don't read on from here. It will spoil the ending and don't say you haven't been warned.****

This is a really good movie and a lot of people forget that the killer wasn't Jason in the first movie but his mother Mrs. Voorhees who all this time has been killing counselors and sabotaging the camp all in the name of her son. Then from there Jason takes over as the killer in the 10 sequels.

Now it is not the scariest movie in the world but it is a classic. You always have to respect the classics. So with Halloween right around the corner if this movie is on tv or you have it on dvd give it a look.

Bora Bora

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Thursdays are going to be Travel Thursdays! Places that I want to go or places I have been. So to kick off my first Travel Thursday I have picked Bora Bora as my destination. Bora Bora is an island in the Leeward group of the Society Islands of French Polynesia. I
chose it because I have always loved the idea of staying in one of those huts over the beautiful turquoise water. It just makes a beautiful picture and I think if I were vacationing there that I would be so relaxed and stress free. It just looks like one of those places. First I would pick The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort in a Royal Overwater Two-Bedroom Pool Villa for 11 nights and 12 days during the last week of February and first week of March (my birthday falls into those two weeks) which includes a spacious balcony with sun bed, private pool, personal St Regis butler, 2 bedrooms with king size beds, private garden with outdoor shower to stay at for $4,756.62.

After I got settled into my Villa I would explore the Miri Miri Spa. It offers all kinds of treatments and massages. Over my almost two weeks there I
would spread out these treatments. Start off with a Deluxe Manicure ($138.55 for 80 minutes) and a Deluxe Pedicure ($138.55 for 80 minutes) being at the beach your hands and feet have to look fabulous. Then I would schedule for Heremoana Facial ($196.25 for 50 minutes), In-Villa massage (20% surcharge), Foot Reflexology ($173.17 for 50 minutes) for when exploring the island starts to wear on my feet, Tahitian Hot Stone Massage ($184.71 for 50 minutes) because I have always wanted to try hot stones, Body Exfoliations ($173.17 for 50 minutes), Waxing service (Full leg classic, Half Arms, and Eyebrows - $219.33) your gonna need a touch up half way through the two weeks, and at the next to last day I would want a Sunburn Relief Wrap ($184.71 for 50 minutes) because God knows my lilly white ass will be burnt like Monday morning toast.

Over the two weeks besides doing spa treatments I would want to swim in the water and my private pool. I would find a place to snorkeling and hiking up Mount Otemanu. I would find out if there were tennis lessons to take at there tennis courts.

My nights will be spent enjoying room service and going to the restaurants that the hotel has to offer. Te Pahu looks like a good start. Its a Mediterranean grill that servers local food.

After all that excitement I am going to need a vacation from the vacation. Maybe one day I will get to Bora Bora. Until then I'll just look at the beautiful pictures.

Long Skirt Short Jacket

So Tuesday is for music! So to kick off my first Music Tuesday I want to share one of my favorite songs right now. It is called Long Skirt Short Jacket by Hugh Sherdian. Hugh Sherdian is an Australian actor/singer. He plays Ben Rafter on Packed to the Rafters which is a hit tv show in the land of Oz. This song is a Cake cover and is off of his debut album called Speak Love. I think the whole album is worth a listen. Hope you enjoy it.

Valley of the Dolls

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Happy Dance!!! This is my first Book Club Monday! Yay! So I think I am going to set a date of one month to read the books I pick. It could be longer or shorter depending on the length of the book. So this Book Club Monday timeline will probably be a month because the pick is a long one. The first Book Club Monday selection is...Valley of the Dolls by Jacqueline Susann.

Valley of the Dolls was published in 1966 and quickly became a huge hit on the best seller list. This is her most famous book. It was even made into a movie which stared Patty Duke, Sharon Tate, and Barbara Parkins. The movie is the reason I wanted to read the book. It wasn't a great movie but it was interesting enough to want to read the book. Plus I have heard from people that have read the book that it is much better than the movie.

Here is the Amazon.com review: Sex and drugs and shlock and more--Jacqueline Susann's addictively entertaining trash classic about three showbiz girls clawing their way to the top and hitting bottom in New York City has it all. Though it's inspired by Susann's experience as a mid-century Broadway starlet who came heartbreakingly close to making it, but did not, and despite its reputation as THE roman á clef of the go-go 1960s, the novel turned out to be weirdly predictive of 1990s post-punk, post-feminist, post "riot grrrl" culture. Jackie Susann may not be a writer for the ages, but--alas!--she's still a writer for our times.

So tonight I start reading. Next Monday I will update what I have read and what I think to that point.

Long Day

Today was a long day. It was also a very good day. I went to bed at 7:00am this morning and my mom woke me up at 9:30am because she got breakfest. I never eat breakfest but it was a saguage and egg bisque so I was glad to eat it. After that I just stayed up. Im hoping that being up all day and running on 2.5 hours of sleep will throw me back into a normal sleep schedule but watch my body get a second wind around 12:30am.

It was a full day. Mom, Jeter and I went and took a ride down to Brandon which is about 1 hour south of where we live to see where their Walmart store is because that is one of the stores on the list that my mom is being considered for an assisant management posistion. It wasnt a bad ride. We will diffentaly move if she gets that store but we have to move either way because all the stores that have openings are about and hour or more away from where we live. I wouldnt mind the move. The store we went to today was in a very nice neighborhood. There was a huge mall right behind it and it had another shopping center not to far away that had a movie thearther and a Barns and Nobles. All the things we dont have around here. But we wont know what store she gets fore another month or so because Walmart moves at a snails pase when it comes to hiring. I hate them. I just dont want to get settled in school up here and she got a job an hour away. I'd have to stay with my grandparents or drop out. But not thinking about that until we cross that bridge.

After the ride we dropped Jeter back at home and we went to get my mom a hair cut. I watched and after that we went to Deals which is like a Dollar General and got some cheap hair supply because I wanted to do a hair style called the Beehive. I found a "how to" blog about it. Then after that we went grocey shopping at Sweetbay. Then came home.

My grandparents got back today from North Carolina and we were going to see them but my grandpa called and said that they were tired and had to much unpacking to do so not to bother coming over and try them tomorrow. Ok. They were gone for a week and took one suitecase. I dont get them some times.

So I decided to try this beehive "how to" I found and it didnt work out so well. But I'll try it again, maybe if I pratice at it more it will work right. Now I have all this hair spray in my hair that is going to be a bitch to brush out. But before I put my stuff away I did try "the bow" and it came out pretty good. Not prefect but again if I keep trying to do it it will get easier and more good looking.

Right now I am just watching one of my favorite movies, Fried Green Tomatoes and trying not to fall asleep before at least 10:30pm but Its getting hard. I can barely look at what I am typing.

A Hair Bow

I just stumbled on to this blog that shows you how to do a hair bow out of your own hair. It is so cute. I am totally going to try this tomorrow! I hope it comes out right when I try because it really is a cute hair style and it would be great for a Halloween style.

My Day Was Ok

My day started at 3:30 when I woke up. Didn't go to bed until 7:00am this morning. This sleep thing is really getting on my nerves. I told my mom I need to look into ambien or something because my body is just naturally a night owl. I spent my night watching Packed to the Rafters which is this awesome Australian tv show. I have to watch it online because we don't get it on tv here in the States. I wish we did. I mean come on, we get BBC America why not Aussie America? I also found old episodes of Ghost Hunters. I love watching that show too especially since its so close to my favorite holiday, Halloween! The old episodes of Ghost Hunters are totally different then the new ones. Kind of a different format that I like a little better.

When I finally did wake up today I looked out side and it was a very nice day out. There was not a cloud in the sky and the the sky was soo blue. It was nice out to. Not hot at all. It was cool but on the warmer side of cool. It was nice and its just going to get nicer when winter comes. Jeter liked it too. But since the weather is getting cooler this means that Jeter is going to be more of a blanket thief then normal because he doesn't have a lot of hair, especially on his booty.

Also when I was outside today I saw that my neighbors down the street from us have their blow up haunted house up. They are all ready for Halloween. I love when people get festive for Halloween, makes me feel like I'm normal for loving the day so much.

Tonight I did go out with my mom. We went to Denny's for dinner. It was good but it was slow. We got there at 5:30 and didn't get out of there until 7:30. They said they were sorry because the kitchen was really slow tonight. Mom was tired so the conversation was one sided and she wasn't into talking. How ever I was because I have been alone all day and have not met my word quota for the day. But it was ok, I am use to hearing myself talk without anyone listening to me. However at dinner this nice middle aged couple sat in the booth behind us and as they left the man said, "Hey, we can't use this so you can have it." I said thank you since mom was catatonic. It ended up being a 20% off coupon for dinner at Denny's. So at the end of the night we ended up getting $5.00 off our meal but mom gave the difference in tip to the waitress, so it all worked out. After Denny's we made a stop at Walgreens. Mom need to pick up toilet paper so I waited in the car. I don't like going into Walgreens unless I have to.

Now I am just relaxing and watching the new Kitchen Nightmares with Jeter. The way some people act is just crazy! Love the show though.

Recipe Time...Again

Chicken Patty Parmesan

Ingredients
Chicken Patties
Tomato sauce/pizza sauce
Shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions
1. Preheat oven to the directions on the back of the chicken patties. (In my case 425f)
2. Cook the patties for full time minus (-) 5 minutes. (In my case they take 20 minutes to cook so I cook them for 15 minutes)
3. After that time pull the patties out of the oven and take your tomato sauce or you can do it with you favorite pizza sauce, and put some on the patties.
4. Then after the sauce is on sprinkle your mozzarella cheese on top. Put as much or as little cheese as you like on the patties.
5. Put them back in the over for 5 minutes so the patties can finish cooking and the cheese can melt. (If after the 5 minutes they look like they need a couple more minutes in the oven that is fine.)
6. Take them out and your done!

They go great with green beans or other vegetables. Enjoy!

Nothing Much

Image and video hosting by TinyPic Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Not much happened today, again. I woke up to the sound of the lawn guy mowing which he was supposed to be fired but he still came. Mom said she is not paying him for the mow because she told him to stop. But I just rolled over and went back to sleep. I didn't go to bed until about 7:00am this morning and didn't officially wake up til just before 3:00pm. I had my sleep schedule worked out about a month ago but my body just naturally went back to its old ways. This must stop before school starts back up in January.

I am also hungry, I ate a little plain pasta but pasta is not good when you don't have anything to flavor it with. Tonight my mom gets paid. The check goes in the bank at 1:00am. So we are going to wake up and go get gas and a little something for a very late dinner. I hate living like this, pay check to pay check. Day to day. She pays all the bills then we have to go with out for three days because there isn't enough to go around. It sucks. I cant wait to go back to school and see if this degree will help get a job because God knows I couldn't get a job with my paralegal degree in this small town. But I'm grumpy. Happens to me on an empty stomach.

Bright side to all of this? Watching Ghost Hunters and American Horror Story is on tonight!

I Love Lucy

Image and video hosting by TinyPic Image and video hosting by TinyPic Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I am just sitting here in my room, a little bored. It is raining outside. It has been dark all day. The rain started last night. Here in Florida we are getting into our rainy season. Which is good because summer was pretty dry this year. I am watching the New York Jets play the New England Patriots. I am of course rooting for the Jets. Other then that its been a pretty lazy day. Even Jeter has been sleeping all day.

When I saw looking around tumblr I saw these I Love Lucy gifs that I love! It is one of my favorite episodes. It is where Lucy and Ethel go on a star house tour bus and get off to pick some fruit of Richard Widmark and some how loses her shoe in his backyard and the only way out is through the front door of the house. From there craziness ensues.

Perfect Rainbow

I went outside to this evening to take Jeter for a walk before it started to rain. It was nice out. Windy and cool. A few rain flecks. Nothing major yet. On the way back to the house I saw the most perfect rainbow I have ever seen and it was right over my house. So I ran back inside to get my camera to take pictures. It didnt turn out great on the pictures but it was still very beautiful. Here are a couple of pictures....

Chanel Spring 2012 Runway

My favorite designer band is hands down Chanel. There is just a classy and femininity quality to the design which is surprising since the head of Chanel is Karl Lagerfeld. Here are some of my favorite looks from the Chanel Spring 2012 runway show. So beautiful...

The Exorcist

Watching the Exorcist and its not as scary as I remembered. In fact it is kind of slow moving. Shame. Anyway, today was an ok day. It rained so didn't go outside today. I even slept in way to late, until 2:00pm but that's because I didn't fall asleep until 6:30am this morning. So I'm fucked for the night. I really need to work the sleep thing out.

Tomorrow is Saturday and I have no clue what I am going to do. If it rains again maybe a movie marathon. I haven't watched some of my dvds in a long time.

Beautiful Picture

I found the most beautiful picture when doing a google image search. The site it was on was a weird looking site called Insects and Angels and it was in a globe of pictures that had no info. It is an old picture of a bride in I think the 1920's and its just stunning. I love old pictures like this.

If anyone has any info on this picture comment on this post please, I would love to know the story behind it.

His Royal Hotness is Coming

Prince Harry is coming to American! He is defiantly my favorite royal to watch. He's fun and fine! He's coming out to California and Aziona to do milatry heliocoperter training. Why oh why is it when a royal comes for a visit they go to the west coast and not the east? AND why when they do come to the east coast they always hit New York. Why not Florida? Its an ok state. But with my luck they will visit to far south. But whatever, lets just hope there will be a lot of hot pictures of him.

One day my prince will come but until then I will just ogle at him. Ahhhh....

Just an Ordinary Day

Not much happened so far today. I woke up early which is a change. I played a little yahoo pool and watched the British Kitchen Nightmares which in my opinion is much better than the american version.

I also spent some time outside with Jeter today. It was warm but not hot. Its starting to cool down here which is very good. Love the fall/winter months. Here are a few pictures of Jeter. I think he is camera shy because he didn't want to look at me.

He's such a pretty boy :) I love him to death. Also a couple of pictures of what today looks like. The clouds are starting to roll in for an afternoon shower. Like clockwork.
